Does the car have an idle screw? This may need to be adjusted. Also make sure you are tuning for the lowest MAP reading at idle, not a lean mixture. If the car has an idle control valve which you are not using it could be letting air through and giving you false readings - clamp it off. Why not post ...

I'd stick with a cardboard one. Apparently that ally doesn't half buckle when YOU try and weld it.....

I've now dropped my VE in that area to 90% which has improved it. Cheers guys. Just needs a bit more fine tuning, see you on the street...

I realise tuning for WOT with a NB is difficult, thats why I'm running a bit rich in that area. As soon as funds allow I'll put a WB on it.

Dave, you are right, it is very rich. I have tried 97 to 100% VE in that area but thinking about it since I'm not using full revs I could try leaning it out.

Poor performance at high RPM - see my datalogs

I'm running a V3 on a Mk2 Golf using all the standard injection parts. My rev limit is set at a conservative 6200RPM (6750 std) but the car struggles to get there in higher gears. It used to rev quite freely and I have compared it to my friends car just to be sure. My PW maxes out at around 88% (1 ...

Bosch idle air valve question

I'm running a V3 board on my VW Golf and want to use the idle control valve do to a poor cold idle speed. from what I've :RTFM: I need to upgrade the transistor in Q4 and remove a couple of other components. Is this the best way to use the valve of is there another (simpler) way??

I've had a quick look at your datalog - don't worry about your AFR at idle, just adjust the map in that area to acheive the lowest MAP reading. I think your PW is too small although on the datalog I couldn't see what it was doing at a steady idle. Check your AFR at full throttle and don't be scared ...
