UPDATE!!!!

I FOUND THE PROBLEM!

The mark that indicates top dead center on my engine, which is used to set the timing, is on a dampener pulley on the front of the crank. Apparently the rubber in the damper wore out, and the outer wheel of the pulley slid out of its position and was WAY OFF of top ...

viewing VE and spark Table at the same time?

Its there anyway to see and have access to manipulate the VE table and the spark tables (not the 3D maps) at the same time? Or both windows open simultaneously? When fine tuning a particular issue, it would be great to see exactly what fuel cell conisides with what spark cell to make tuning ...

Set it up as a wheel decoder, with a 36-2 wheel. Wire the the open ended shielding to the ground on the board, as well as the negative wire of the sensor. It will work (it does on mine).

I would do this except everything I have read says you can't share a VR input and I would need to share it ...

Coyoteboy,

I understand I can take full control of the engine management (and I may do this at a later date) but for now I am wondering if I can use my trigger set up (basically 2 bolts welded to the front crank pulley 180° apart passing a VR sensor at 60° BTDC) to trigger MS to control the OE ...

BTW, does anyone know for sure how many teeth the stock Toyota crank wheel has? I scoped it and I think I count 36-2 teeth. Does this sound correct? they are difficult to count on a DSO when you move the time width up far enough to get an entire revolution in the window.

It uses a VR sensor. Do ...

Are you using a clever "dial back" strobe? These can get very confused by wasted spark ignition and show the wrong timing.
It sounds like you know what you are aiming for and have the timing close by ear but not by strobe. I believe your ears, but you need to strobe it to within a degree.

James ...

Here is a pic of the wheel, for reference.

So far we have managed very stable rpm from it.
