I had a situation a couple weeks ago where things just started acting weird, couldn't figure out why so I reloaded the code and it started acting right again. Maybe all you needed was a reload.

Loaded 2.36 last night, hooked up the scope this morning on a cold start, all the steps I looked at were perfect!

I did some testing today, on my test setup my IAC motor ran perfectly at 7 VDC, had a few glitches at 6 volts, so unless the battery voltage is dropping below 7 volts when cranking, I don't believe voltage is a problem. Here are the waveforms I promised. These were taken as I started the truck, the retract was after key on while the IAC was going to the home (0) position and the extend was going to low idle. The half step you were seeing must have been something on your board.

I see your confusion, with a solenoid you don't have an idle step table. Try this, in Megatune, Settings, Idle Control, change the algorithm to IAC Stepper Always On. Close the Idle Control window. Go to Tables, Idle Steps (this table is not available when you have "Solenoid" selected ...

You said changing the chip had no effect on the output. Is the one output still half stepping? Snafu on the new scope, it won't get here until Friday and I'll be gone this weekend so it'll be next week now before I can do any checking on my end.
