Two options:

1.) Export your existings tables first. You can them import them later if needed.

2.) Save the settings file (.msq) first. That file contains all configuration settings including the tables. You can then reload the entire lot from .msq.

This has been discussed in the past. As I recall the problem was the 100 rpm increment in engine speed (gone with msnsextra), combined with the fact that serial comms being asynchronous may not present data at a fast enough rate. There was some talk of calculating a 'rate of change of rpm' value ...

Lance,

You are right! I did a search, and found my old post from way back entitled "EDIS Coil Compatibility":

A wide variety of coilpacks have been used successfully with the EDIS module, from memory: Mazda coil packs, Ford COP units, and BMW COP units. The EDIS module has built-in current limiting, so your max spark energy will be determined by coil inductance. A few people have done the math and bench ...

Re-flashing with 2.36 eliminated the random miss problem. The owner is thrilled! Must have been a glitch in that code somewhere. Now to chase down LC-1 problems. Unfortunately the old Win95 laptop will not run the LC-1 setup software, and the new laptop has no serial port.

Also, following cooling system swirl pot design, use a cylindrical tank, and feed the high velocity return fuel in tangentially part way up the tank. This swirling action forces the vapour bubbles to the centre where they can rise up to the vent line that returns to the main tank.

As mentioned earlier, it is possible to convert older fuel tanks to accept a modern drop-in efi pump setup. Here are pics of the pump assembly, mounting flange, and slosh cup from a late 80's rx-7. Swapping these bits onto my 1979 fuel tank is on the project list for this fall. This conversion will ...

Awesome, thanks for the info. We're planning to look at the car again early this week, so I'll do the re-flash process first thing.

Cheers,
Roger.

Thanks Lance, looks like that site is up again.

Any thoughts on that 30ms spike? Has that issue been seen before? I'll help my friend re-flash to the new code, and see if it still exists.

Thanks,
Roger.

surge tanks?

jonfx4com wrote: I tried a facet gold top low pressure fuel pump to fill a surge tank before the HP fuel pump and it was a hopeless case. The flow rate of the HP pump was way higher than the LP pump and the surge tank was empty within seconds of the HP pump running up. Result was a dead HP pump ...
