You can easily upgrade to spark-control when you feel ready.

Just lock the advance plate in the dizzy and run the VR signal to the ignition input on MS/MS2, and then the ignition output from MS to the VR input on the MSD-6AL unit. keep everything else as it is.

Of course you can also do waste ...

I´v manage to run my s2 aby engine with MS1/Extra code, uses my deafult
VR and hall sensors, some problems on the way but me and my buddys solved them, uses the LM1815 and 4017 to fix the signals from the VR sensor. Im not a pro Ms user but ...

There aren't three ignition drivers, so Coil On Plug is out of the question. With two ignition drivers in a waste spark setup, you would need two cylinders to fire at the same time; possible with your 180° crank, not 120° unfortunately.

If you use a cam sensor with a 3 hole rotor for a 3-pot ...

How does MS know when synchronizing with the crank trigger if it's on the first or the second rev of the engine cycle as shown in the pictures below? The pictures show the position of the distributor rotor.

In the second case, it would either fire cylinder 3 really late or cylinder 4 really early ...

So the MS II code does'nt support a 60-2 wheel (even beta) ?

According to the MSnSe thread, I should use 60-0 wheel at the crank and a single tooth wheel on ...

I just realized that the dizzy will be out of phase for one of two sparks. :oops:
to make this work the MS must fire on every 24. tooth. ( 5 times / 720 crank-degrees).

is there a 10cyl edis ??? (worst case senario)

I'm currently planning a MS'ed 2.5litre 5cylinder audi engine for my 4000q, and I vould HATE using the distributor for ignition pickup.

Is it possible to use a 60-2 crank wheel and a MSD 6 CD unit with a single coil. distributing through the original 5-way dissy?

I can't see why not ( 60 / 5 = 12 ...
