If this was mine, to reduce the autotune oscillations I'd reduce the proprtional gain and reduce the 'lumpiness' in the autotune settings. I'd also make sure the step size in the EGO settings is 1%, and make the ignition events per step at least twice the number of cylinders.

So I got AutoTune to run by changing the parameters in the config.ini file.

And I also got the O2 sensor to work properly by getting the software bug out (thanks to Lance:))

Now when it idles, it oscillates between rich and lean. That is, the O2 sensor pegs between + and -. It also moves between ...

I had no idea what a pull up resistor was or how it works either. There is a lot of talk on this board that is way over my head. I wish there was a plain language manual...

Stay the hell away from coil in cap HEI. The coil is just too close to the sensor.

I had worse luck with the VR straight to the MSII than with using a module in between.

But I still cannot get it to work so what do I know.

Whatever you decide, test your tach signal first before you tear anything ...

Well seeing as there was no help here I have changed from VR input to Hall input and now have a clean tac single.

I did the same thing but I am still getting tach spikes at crank. It goes from 185 to over 20k and the back to 185 in an instant.

I am still at a total loss.

Any ideas?
