Re: Injector and Throttle Plate Orientation

That is the type of TBI on my '89 Cadillac. Its throttle response is definately lacking but the automatic transmission makes up for it. Might be a real pain if it was a manual.

Re: Dodge 440 Engine Rebuild

The "carburetor" lookin' item is the throttle body. Throttle Body Injection locates the injectors in the throttle body. Port Fuel Injection still uses a throttle body but the injectors are located very close to the intake port usually on the intake manifold. Either way ya still have a throttle body ...

Re: Injector and Throttle Plate Orientation

So your throttle body is 12" from the intake port, where will the actual injector be located? If the injector is close to the port I think it will run just fine. Maybe quicker throttle response the closer the TB is to the port but might be very small or not even noticable.

Re: Injector and Throttle Plate Orientation

So they have tried this and it does work and gives better economy/atomization? The theory sounds good. Focusing the direction of the injector towards the edge of the butterfly sounds like a good idea too. This either works or it don't, good theory or not.

I've read that one of the first fuel ...

Re: Help Identifying Buell Injector

Has anybody heard of Sagem fuel injectors? This is suppose to be the brand of injector used by Buell. Any links to them?

Help Identifying Buell Injector

I am using a 2001 Buell X1 Throttlebody and maybe it's injectors if they are the correct size. They are black and have some numbers on them I can't find on any list of injectors. They have a logo type symbol on one side that looks like an eye and the letter "S". The throttlebody is made by Walbro I ...

Re: Advantage or disadvatage of this type of throttle body

This is the link: http://www.dtafast.co.uk/Throttle%20bodies/FAQs_and_advice.htm#positions

Specifically this paragraph:

Where is the best place for the injectors?
Where one injector is to be used per cylinder the best compromise position is immediately downstream of the butterfly. This gains ...

Re: Advantage or disadvatage of this type of throttle body

According to a website I just visited, the farther the injector is away from the intake valve the better for high revving engines. This has to do with giving the fuel more time to atomize with the intake air. The throttle body needs to be as close as possible however. What kinda V-Twin are you ...

Re: Intake manifold tubing

Good info. Looks like my space constraints will work to my advantage. My engine redlines at 5,000rpm, should make 80hp/100ftlbs at the crank. Having the injector close to the intake valve and the throttle body close but not real close is supposed to work good with my combination. That is how I have ...

Re: fuel pumps (again)

The Victory V92 pump is an external inline FI pump. It should not draw more than 3 to 4amps max. They are on Ebay from time to time. This is the only external inline pump I have found that will draw less than 5amps and not flow enough fuel for 500hp.
