Re: Recommendation for a motorcycle fuel pump?

I use a Magneti Marelli 3 bar pressure regulator which is standard equipment on Ducati 2 valve belt twins using the 45mm throttle bodies. The power for the pump is supplied by a 12VDC motor speed controller which I bought in kit form Jaycar (an Australian electronics retailer). If my memory serves ...

Re: Recommendation for a motorcycle fuel pump?

I use a Walbro GSL393 160 LPH inline automotive pump on my bevel drive ducati twin. It is not a physically large unit and I had no problems finding somewhere to mount it. I run it on a PWM power supply which measures 7 volts at the pump. Tests show that at this speed the pump flows approx 45 LPH and ...

Re: Buell ignition timing, cam-only solution possible?

Let's say (hypothetically at the moment) I make up a cam trigger wheel which has 24-1 teeth - only because any more would be a bit of a squeeze - then how would this wheel be positioned if cyl 1 (REAR in my terminology) is at TDC, and what would all these offsets be set to, and more importantly ...

Re: Buell ignition timing, cam-only solution possible?

Richard, judging by your post it is obvious that you already know that by doing the required mods on the Megasquirt II daughter board and using code version 2.8 or higher you will have the dual spark capability of Microsquirt . This capability allows the use of the two independant ignition outputs ...

Re: Buell ignition timing, cam-only solution possible?

why not just use the dual spark option of 'Single Cam Wheel Input' as described on the Microsoft Dual Spark page as option 4.a. 'M-N Cam Wheel Only'. You might like to consider using a Microsquirt as they are invaluable on motorcycle installations where mounting space is limited. Obviously you would ...

Re: Trigger offset values having unexpected effects

Judging by your description of the engines mechanical setup the dual spark configuration should be 'Rising or falling cam synch with tach or wheel'.

Re: Kick Start...

I have Microsquirt controlling both fuel and ignition on my Ducati 90 degree bevel V-twin, and although I elect to use the starter motor, there have been several occasions when I have kick started it. I find that when kick starting, ignition and RPM is not the problem rather controlling fuel intake ...

Re: Tachout (pin35) problem

Bruce, thanks for your response. I'm afraid I don't have a scope but I went ahead and reconfigured the port anyway hoping that I could improvise to get some useful information.

I configured the port this way because 'rpm' is a real time variable that I can easily control to guage ...
