Re: A newbie looking for help with a CRF450R

Search for "MYK777" on here and the megasquirt forum. Lots of good information about overcoming the difficulties of speed density on a single cylinder. He has a YFZ450 quad.

Your stock ignition coil is probably a CDI coil so it will not easily work with microsquirt. Honda CBR600F4i coils are ...

Re: Kick Start...

Maybe I'm not following this correctly, but it seams to me like a perfect application for a GM 8 pin HEI module with it's "cranking mode" that doesn't rely on the signal from megasquirt.

Also, 50rpms is way slow, less than one revolution per second. Seems like even kick starting a harley you'd be ...

Re: RPM dependent Staged injection (and possibly autotune?)

Seams like you might be better off to blend the two sets of injectors together for a portion of the table, so the transition isn't so abrupt.

So if you wanted the changover at 4000 rpms your two sets of rpm bins would be something like this: where the "% of total fuel" is the percent of the total ...

Re: Will microsquirt fire my coil?

I'm confused a bit by Matt's answer to this question. I was under the impression that megasquirt/microsquirt could not fire ANY CDI coil, as they require a very short duration of high voltage DURING the spark, as opposed to the long (relatively speaking) duration of low voltage BEFORE the spark ...

Re: Single Tooth pickup

On my WR450 i am looking into using the magneto output as effectively a 12 tooth crank wheel, with the stock vr sensor as a crank ref.

There is a fellow over on the MSEFI boards who has a YFZ450 for which he made a missing tooth cam wheel that looks like it works pretty well. Lots of info there ...

NAW wideband controller inside the Microsquirt case

I am considering getting one of these:

http://www.14point7.com/Widebands/NAW_OEM/NAW_OEM.htm

and trying to fit it inside the Microsquirt case.

Seems like a guy could tap into the power, ground, and wideband signal wires right inside the uS case so the only extra wires would be for the wideband ...

Re: 2007 yamaha apex snowmobile

I have contemplated doing a piggyback setup on my Nytro, because the Microsquirt can't do spark on a three cylinder, and then the stock ecu could control the idle control and engine braking reduction system. I think it would be pretty easy on an apex. There is a large plug on the left hand side of ...

Re: Cylinder Shutdown

I think MS can control two banks of injectors with independant maps, so you could arrange the banks of injectors and the two maps to do what you want maybe?? I think it's not allowable for the pulse width of the "off" cylinders to go to zero though, so that may be the hangup. Also, probably would be ...

Re: Wideband vs. Narrowband

For the thrifty type you might check out the JAW at www.14point7.com, there is a thread on this board about the JAW somewhere, and the guy who sells them posts here once in a while I think. I have one but have not had a chance to use it yet. It was pretty easy to build for what it's worth.

The ...

Re: GM HEI 8 pin module with Microsquirt

Using my el-cheapo multimeter I get ~0 ohms on the primary coil which is certainly <1 ohm. Looks like you are right Old Guy. Guess I should go shopping for an LS-1 coil.

Guess I should have asked abut this BEFORE I purchased the parts. :? :?

I'll look into the TL1000 wires, I think Honda ...
