Re: M-0 Wheel

We put the diode in place and it seemed to fix the problem, so hopefully we can get it running this afternoon.

With this diode in place, will the signal get messy at higher rpm? The engine will spin about 11,000 RPM

Thanks,

Kyle

Re: M-0 Wheel

Great, we'll give that a try^^

Here is the MSQ file that we got off the microsquirt. If anyone could take a look and see if anything is obviously wrong, we'd appreciate that.

We also did some data logging tonight, here is one of our cranking attempts. We've also had it where we get one ...

Re: M-0 Wheel

grippo,

I understand what you're saying, and it makes a lot of sense. But couldn't this problem be avoided by using the "Falling edge" instead of "Rising Edge" or vise versa, or am I not understanding this option correctly?

How would I go about putting a bias of .5 or 1 volt into the signal ...

Re: M-0 Wheel

Hey Matt,

I'll check and see if I grabbed the wrong file. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: M-0 Wheel

Hey Paul,

Here is what we've got from the Megatune. I'm going to try to do some data logging tomorrow, so I'll post that if I can figure it out.

The engine we are running is a twin cylinder 4-stroke, 180 degree odd-firing engine with a 12-tooth wheel with zero missing teeth. There is one tooth on ...

Re: M-0 Wheel

Hey Paul,

Thanks for clearing that up.We set it up as you recommended. It still doesn't give us any tach signals. We aren't able to adjust anything with the VR sensor to account for any chain stretch, but it looks like there is enough room that it *probably* won't be a problem...

We set up MT with ...

Re: M-0 Wheel

Hey Paul, that helps, but I'm not sure exactly what you mean by making sure the cam input occurs between the declared tach tooth and the previous tooth everytime it changes state on the configured edge.

How do you define what is the declared tach tooth? Is that simply the tach tooth that occurs ...

M-0 Wheel

Hey Guys,

I posted here once before about trying to get a Yamaha Phazer engine setup. It's an odd fire 2 cylinder 4 stroke. It has a wheel on the crank with 12 teeth (no missing), with a VR sensor on it. The cam has a Hall sensor on it, and there is one recessed tooth in it (It goes down, not up ...

Re: IGNITION SETUP: CONFUSED!!

Thanks Lance, I'll try that.

One thing I'm confused about though, is should the "negative" wire from each of the two sensors be connected to the shield of the coax?

And as I've got it setup, my VR sensor on the crank is my input 1, and the hall on the cam is my input 2. Is this correct, or should ...

IGNITION SETUP: CONFUSED!!

Hey everyone,

I'm working on getting a Yamaha Phazer engine Microsquirted. It's a twin cylinder 500 cc four stroke engine. I've got all the sensors wired and am getting reasonable readings. I did a test with the fuel injectors and they are working as well.

My problem comes from my ignition wiring ...
