Re: How to drive Honda RC-51 RVT Ignitor Box?

It's a CDI box. CDI don't need much dwell. Grounded coils are a giveaway. 1ms dwell is probably ennuf. Original ECU controls timing, maybe dwell too, maybe that's fixed.

Anyways if YOU are the next one to use one of these. Go easy on the dwell !!!

And i guess the manuals can use a CDI section ...

How to drive Honda RC-51 RVT Ignitor Box?

I'm using the original ignitor box with the squirt, driving it low level.
This ignitor box has 6 wires. Plus, minus, two inputs, two outputs.
It works with a 5V signal somehow....
The coils wired to the outputs share a common GROUND. (no not +12V)

I'd set it up: Falling edge, going high inverted ...

Re: Microsquirt Megalogviewer and Innovate compatibility

Yes, it's about getting rid of the laptop. It's also about not wanting to buy more hardware to do things simular to things i can do with stuff i already have.

Currently i log with the LM-2, which is at the end of a LC-1 - SSI-4 chain. I used this setup to tweak a Powercommander. Now i've got the ...

Microsquirt Megalogviewer and Innovate compatibility

Maybe it has to do with pattends or something. I'm probably not the first to think of it... though i couldn't find nothing about it...

But wouldn't it have been nice, if i could log my Microsquirt which uses a 3.5mm jack for serial out with my Innovate LM-2 which uses a 3.5mm jack for serial in and ...

Re: uS v2.0 Logic-level IGN output circuitry question

4 posts in a row, I'm really starting to seem desperate here.

BUT I'm posting because I got it working!!! I am now successfully running Micrsoquirt w/ VW COP's. I'm still a bit concerned that I could do harm to the microsquirt so if anyone has any input from the circuirty limitations standpoint I ...

What on earth is logic level, to start with, and where do i read up on this?
Well that was then. It's a been there done that now.

Re: VAG COP style coils

Thank guys, but i know how to wire them and i know that's in the manuals, somewhere. I have/had them working.

What i meant is, my twin's doing over 10.000 RPM, cars on which these coils are used, usualy do a little over half that. Will they survive? If not i'm throwing them over the fence.

Also i ...

VAG COP style coils

I'm liking these VAG style COPs, but i can find very little info on them. So i figured i'd open a topic for it.

On my V-twin i'm using two 03D 905 115 E cops, Bremi number 20116. I'm powering them from the MicroSquirt that's been switched to logic level ignition output.
I set them to 3ms dwell, 4ms ...

Re: Does the latest version run CDI Coils

It fired my CDI coils. But the MicroSquirt is TCI style. One uses low impedance coils (CDI if i'm not mistaken), the other high impedance. So this is not really mixable. If your CDI ignition came with an amplifyer box, you could try to leave that in place and fire it from the MicroSquirt on low ...

I will also psot a couple of datalogs

Cheers and will keep updating on progress.
Under ignition options you can set the timing to be fixed, you don't have to change the whole table.
