Re: CDI for Microsquirt?

Are they a COP coil, or are they a coil pack that I can use to fire two cylinders at once in a wastespark configuration? On this engine, all the Microsquirt knows is that one cylinder is at TDC, it does not know which one, so I will always have to be in a wastespark arrangement, as a result.

Re: CDI for Microsquirt?

Thanks for the replies! I don't really want to build a CDI from scratch (although I could), but a COP setup may be the way to go. Matt, can you tell me more about your coils?

Alpha-N setup problem

Hello all-
I am having a problem with the setup on my latest 2 stroke microsquirt project. I am running it as Alpha-N, and I also have a baro sensor hooked up. If I go into Megatune, I can see the baro reading on the baro gauge. The MAP gauge is reading about 8kpa (this seems to vary, even though ...

Re: CDI for Microsquirt?

I have thought of that, but I need three things out of a CDI. First, it has to be water tight. Second, it needs to hit the coil fast and hard - I do not have enough time between cycles to give it the full 3.1ms+ of time it would take to charge, and then proper discharge time. A stock style CDI used ...

CDI for Microsquirt?

Hello All-
I have a uS on my 1997 Seadoo GSX 787 PWC. I have been running it in a fuel only mode for almost a year with great success. I decided I wanted to make the leap over to full ignition control, and hit a snag. The existing coil is rather small, and is currently fired by the OE integrated ...

Re: Microsquirt - No Comm

It could be, but also check which USB-> serial cable you are using. I have found on another uS that it was VERY picky about what cable I needed to use. I ended up having to spring for the high dollar cable, and everything worked fine.

Re: Microsquirt - No Comm

OK, spent several hours today troubleshooting my uS. Here's what I've got. The MAX3221 chip is shot. The Rx side seems to work, but the Tx side does not, and the chip gets hot. While troubleshooting, I pulled out and old RS232 -> TTL interface board I have, and hooked it up. Well, that actually ...

Re: Microsquirt - No Comm

OK, just went into the settings for my USB cable, and no luck. Thank you for the suggestion. Keep them coming!
