Re: Help with CX500 Turbo

We have the full LM-1. Using the analog output to feed into MicroSQuirt. I set it for 1-2 volt output over 10-20 AFR range.

Forgot to mention in previous entry that we have 18 teeth, 1 missing tooth, 9 skip teeth and 7 delay teeth with both settings at -115 degrees.

Thanks

Re: Help with CX500 Turbo

Well, I finally found the problem. When odd angle is positive, there is no spark on cylinder 2. I started playing with the value of odd angle and at -115 we got the correct timing and spark on cylinder 2 as on cylinder 1. With the bike on the dyno, we recorded a speed of 160 mph at 10200 rpm ...

Re: Help with CX500 Turbo

Forgot to mention in above that we have a single crank wheel with vr sensor, and two coils.

Re: Help with CX500 Turbo

Al, We are working with a 500cc Turbo, 2cylinder 4 stroke, 80 degree apart cylinders. When I put skip teeth to 9 as you said in a previous response, no spark on cylinder 2. Also, we ran the bike on our chassis dyno. The Tach said 5000 rpm, but we calculated the rpm from the wheel speed measured on ...

Re: Help with CX500 Turbo

Al, one more question. If I hook an electronic tach to one of the could, and we are in wasted spark mode, will it show the RPM as twice what it really is? Is there a way around this.?

Re: Help with CX500 Turbo

Al, I got the engine to run, but when I set skip teeth to 9, cylinder 2 only fires once and then never again. With it at 18, seems ok although have no way to tell if rpm is correct, seems ok idles at about 650 rpm. Timing is exactly as we want it. I've had engine to 5000 rpm, then have problems ...

Re: Need some help with this Vtwin....please!!!

I forgot to mention in the previous message how we determined the -115 degrees for the offset. WE counted the degrees from the T1 tach tooth to the TDC #1 spot on the flywheel. It turned out to be a bit past the 7 th tooth. We started with -140 degrees and reduced the in 10 degree increments until ...

Re: Need some help with this Vtwin....please!!!

We are running a Honda CX500 80 degree twin. I made some interesting discoveries this week. It has a 18 tooth flywheel with 1 missing tooth.

Here are the settings that made the spark come out where we wanted it;
Teeth 18
Missing teeth 1
Skip teeth 18
delay teeth 7
offset #1 -115 degrees
offset #2 ...

24c, please do not respond to this message. I need to hear from Grippo. Thanks

I looked at pin 4 of the big connector and get a good 4 volt peaK to peak signal. At pin 3 of the CPU, there is no changing signal, just a constant 5 volts. I do ot have the facilities to be messing around changing the ...
