Re: ALPHA-N or Map lag change.

Here are some datalogs and .msq

Autotune was creating crazy numbers and the engine was running worse the longer I used it. Note exhaust valves open @ 6700 rpm which you'll see in the VE table. I disabled the O2 sensor in these runs which helped, very seriously considering deleting it from the setup ...

ALPHA-N or Map lag change.

I'm having a hell of a time tuning this motor. It's a ITB 2 stroke racing motor on a snowmobile. My Map signal is haywire, which I'm starting to believe is making this motor seemingly in-tunable.

Being a snowmobile it has a CVT (continuously varying transmission). The CVT automatically adjusts ...

Re: problems.

I didn't have much luck with just changing the Pressure Regulator. So I dropped in the larger 85 lb/hr injectors. I can now pump enough fuel, Duty cycle goes up to about 65%. Theses are looking like a good match as at the moment and I haven't been able to reach full rpm. Idle quality seems to be ...

Re: problems.

Interesting I just looked at the .MSQ seems you are correct. They are Hi-Z injectors, I started out with Low-Z and the EFI system was using too many watts. So I switched a bunch of stuff around to reduce power consumption. The injectors were the main reduction in power consumption.......I know what ...

Re: problems.

Hi- Z injectors with PWM set to 100% and PWM time threshold to 1.0 msec. This is one of the things I first looked at. I am going to be home February 9-11 and I will be able to work on this project. I'm going to try my 3 bar regulator but with my duty cycles being so high, I don't think the injectors ...

Re: problems.

The snowmobile is North of Hamilton/Burlington. I'm currently living out in Kitsilano. Hoping to get back east for a couple full days of tuning.....

Re: problems.

Stator is rated for 280W. I have put the sled on an electrical diet, and my battery voltage now seems to steady. If I ditch the LC-1 controller and go to an HID headlight kit, I should still be power neutral using LOW-Z injectors. This is probably one of the advantages of my motor rev'ing so high ...

Re: problems.

Sled was a carb'd racing sled. Started out running 110 octane w/premix.

I did a total rebuild, including drilling oil passages to convert it to oil injection. Ran it on the carbs for the first 10hrs for proper break-in, and to ensure the oil injection was working as expected. On the sled is a ...

Re: problems.

I will start looking into pressuge gauges, definitely a useful tuning aid. What kind of a setup did you end up using?
