Re: VR, Resets, DR650 Toothed Wheel

Found the problem. The VR- input was loose in my terminal strip. It was somehow causing fits to the squirt.

For those who are interested:
I'm running a Cherry GS100701 hall sensor. With a 3K pullup as recommend by the manufacturer for the voltage I'm running.

Vcc is same as for the squirt at 14V ...

Re: VR, Resets, DR650 Toothed Wheel

Yep, I've read that section, but I get what looks to be a nice edge detection even with a VR sensor. The point you mentioned made me nervous, but my trace showed pretty good results. Though even if I had issues with the VR sensor, I could still use a hall sensor for better edge detection. I'll have ...

Re: VR, Resets, DR650 Toothed Wheel

No .msq file as I'm not running the stock code. The test is limited to the VR1 circuit which past the new V3.0 filtering stuff is pretty much just an input compare timer hanging around waiting for rising and falling edges. Well, a bit more, but not much. From the oscilloscope trace, I can see that's ...

VR, Resets, DR650 Toothed Wheel

I working with the new V3.0 squirt, and I'm experiencing resets when I hitch up the VR sensor to the squirt.

Now, for the interesting part: I've written code to sync up with a Suzuki DR650 using its rotor's stock tooth arrangement. The code samples the VR1 signal, obtains sync, and uses the squirt ...

Re: Oscillator frequency?

Of course, it looks like there may be an 8MHz oscillator on the board .... but, what do I know, I'm a software guy.

Oscillator frequency?

Searching around the web, I seem to find a great variety of answers to the microcontrollers oscillator frequency question.

I have the following package for a V3 Microsquirt: "MC9S12C64CFA XL09S/0M66G -40°C, 85°C 48LQFP 25MHz C128 die 64K 4K 31", which indicates a bus speed of 25MHz. As the bus ...

Re: New MicroSquirt AMPSEAL - Pin 18 missing?

I'm glad it's the correct harness. Now I can get my sensors calibrated!

No worries on the documention, lot's of very helpful info there.

Re: New MicroSquirt AMPSEAL - Pin 18 missing?

I started comparing the existing MS harness to my MS 3.0 harness. I don't have the old MS harness, but I do have the 3.0 version.

The MS 3.0 harness I have has:

- unpopulated pin 18 - ground. This is how the old harness was documented to be wired, but the new one is documented to have a ground ...

New MicroSquirt AMPSEAL - Pin 18 missing?

I noticed pin 18 on my AMPSEAL connector is not populated, i.e., no attached black wire ground like pins 22 & 23. Pins 22 & 23 look fine. Is this intentional?
