No that is primarily in FTP data transfers. I still get support tickets for that exact problem. Primarily in old mainframe systems that default to ascii.

hint: if it runs really slowly make sure your not running too many other high-priority processes (ie do a killall artsd or killall esd)

hint 2: as root 'chmod a+rwx /dev/ttyS0' or whichever tty device your MS is connected to.

hint 3: commercial wine distro's work quite well, eg crossover office ...

After the code is garbled I cannot use the download -b option anymore and have to upload the code as if it was fresh bg3.0. It's probably already in the bootloader mode, so "download" without the -b option should work.

Thats great now I can use my native OS, instead of dealing with windows. I am going to try it out tonight. Will post back any results.

Would the code downloader work using wine? I think I might ty it.

Great! I tried it and it works perfect. O2 bar at the bottom is a funky color but thats cool. Thanks
