Re: Need configuration advice

Edit - we have a runner!!

I never did have a problem with tach input or dwell. Stupidly, I had a FUEL TUNING problem.

So, we have this 90-degree v-twin running with a 36-1 wheel, hall sensor, and the hall offsetter circuit - and it runs beautifully!

I did however finally come to understand the ...

Re: Need configuration advice

That makes sense! through all this I have neglected to datalog but tonight I am working on it once more and will watch the dwell, seeing how changes affect the limit. I am also running this without an alternator, so there can obviously be many things influencing my minor issues.

Tonight will be the ...

Re: Need configuration advice

Thanks Al.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you're suggesting I adjust the Delay teeth, such that I end up with a -300 degree trigger offset? I did this some last night, and it actually seemed to lower the threshold on the "phantom rev limiter" behavior. I'm not losing tach signal, with my first MSQ I ...

Need configuration advice

Hi -

I'm working on a 1200cc v-twin engine. I actually have it running, but I am completely confused on the trigger wheel setup. I am wondering if someone could suggest correct ignition settings for this application?

The engine is a 90-degree oddfire v-twin (common crank pin, 90 deg. angle ...

I recently tuned my first MS-II car(s) and I found the TPS-based enrichments to be a little more tricky.

I always disable accel enrichments and first try to slope the VE table upwards at MAP pressures just above idle, all the way to 100kpa. Try to get a good free-rev this way, then I add TPS ...

Excellent - thanks!!

we're off to the machinist to see about pressing an EDIS wheel onto the harmonic balancer then.

Thanks James,

wasted spark v6 using 4-1 wheel?

As the subject says - I don't believe so, but just in case:

can I use a 4-1 signal (i.e., MSD's flying magnet crank trigger, designed for V8s) on a V6 engine and still run a 3-channel coilpack?

If yes, how would I configure the triggers? (I planned on using the second input, with a 1-tooth cam ...

Make sure you set up the constants correctly. Also, check your ignition timing - get it "ballpark" like around 15 degrees on your motor, that means check it with the light and adjust trigger angle until it's close. Leave it fixed while you tune the idle and startup first.

Make sure you are getting ...

physically, we only need on/off grounding of a 12v relay's coil (same as fuel pump circuit)..

Software, we'd settle for something as simple as a generic output triggered by RPM and TPS, so we can at least trigger a wet system. Ignition timing retard would save the expense of running an external ...

nitrous yet?

After a ton of happy MSnS-Extra installs, I'd like to try an MS-II on a friend's truck.

Is there Nitrous control yet, similar to MSnS-Extra, and if not, how hard would that be to add?

thanks!
