Just wanted to chime in as also having IAC problems and tell yall about an interesting observation.
I have MS II V2.35 firmware, V3 board, no relay board, square connector GM IAC (tried 2 different ones). I have not jumpered the resistors, and have run all 3 modes at different times (currently 15 ...

IT WORKS!!

I think it was a corrupt .msq file as Lance suggested. Here's what I did:

-First I pulled the ECU out of the car and tested on the bench for EGO correction at various inputs, no luck.
-On Lance's advice I exported the VE, AFR, and ignition tables.
-Uninstalled megatune and deleted ...

I set the WB in mtcfg and chose 'single wideband' in 'EGO controls'

I clicked ok after the 'Tools/calibrate AFR' entry. a box popped up that indicated it was downloading values, this appears to have run successfully.

Before I posted here I searched out posts on the topic and set up the variables ...

I just went out and uninstalled MT 2.25, deleted the entire megasquirt folder, then reinstalled, reconfigurated, and reran the AFR calibrator.

This time the idle steps table showed up without a manual edit, which is interesting because I installed MT 2.25 on my desktop PC as a reference and had ...

I played with it more today, still no success. I did set it to narrow band in the 'EGO controls' dialog box today and turned on autotune for a while. this seems to work fine and helped clean up the VE table a bit, but of course it does not use the AFR table, only the narrow band set point.
I also ...

I have a V3 board and LC-1.
It was working fine with no extra resistors, then yesterday I put in a 470 K Ohm (my mistake, I remembered wrong from the post I read) and it works the same as before.
Just a data point for yall.

That's not a typo.. I added 470K ohm. oops..
But, I just did that yesterday and it appears to have had no effect on the AFR readout in MT. It was working fine before and still working fine now. It just won't make an EGO correction. I will fix the resistor tomorrow.
I tried changing the firmware to ...

20%. you can see this in the attached file if you so desire.

Anyone know what would cause NB to work for EGO correction but not WB?

I'm going to head out and try loading new firmware.

oh yea those numbers are for an idle at about 1000rpm for me. I assume looking at your setup you are idling much higher than that.

You have some big injectors on there. Just keep knocking those VE numbers down until it runs better. My beetle is 400cc displacement per cylinder, your engine is about 625cc per cylinder. I have 19 lb injectors at stock rail pressures. Mine idles around 14 to 1 AFR at about 3.5ms pulse width. I know ...
