Re: Triggering with Ford hall sensor and distributor

mc,

Check to see if one edge or the other of the teeth is evenly spaced, as often they are and one tooth itself is bigger or smaller than the rest. If one edge of the teeth is symmetrical, then you can select the appropriate edge of the signal (rising or falling edge) in the software to get a ...

Re: Yamaha pickup coils

turbomax,

You problem could be anything from incorrect sensor spacing to the teeth to induced noise in the wiring to the wrong setup in the code for your setup.

To narrow it down, it would help if you posted your hardware version (presumably a microsquirt, but V2 or V3?), code version, MSQ ...

Re: Yamaha pickup coils

chuck4788,

If it has one 'tooth' per revolution, or if it is an M-N missing tooth wheel, then yes it should work as a cam signal.

For B&G code, this is called 'dual spark' inputs, and you can read about it here: http://www.useasydocs.com/details/dualspark.htm and you can read about ignition ...

Re: tuner studio wont detect microsquirt

Neil,

I could be a lot of things causing your issue, but you appear to have eliminated the most common ones.

If this was mine, I would re-boot the computer and immediately try portCheck.exe before connecting to the LC-1 in case something in it's software is causing the serial port to hang).

I ...

Re: Microsquirt v2.2 help.

Laner1986,

I apologize but I don't fully understand what you have written. Microsquirts are fully assembled from the factory, so how was yours "built by someone else". Do you mean it was installed in the vehicle by someone else, or do you have a MegaSquirt V2.2 board, or a microsquirt module? See ...

Re: tuner studio wont detect microsquirt

Neil,

portCheck.exe will poll all the comm ports on your computer for any MegaSquirt/MicroSquirts that might be connected, and report the code version of any MS devices it finds. So try that:

There are more comm port tips here:

Re: sensor ground

Neil,

The wide band controller is a relatively high power device, and not really just a sensor like a TPS or temperature sensor. It needs its own separate ground. You should ground the wide band sensor controller to the same spot on the engine that MicroSquirt is grounded to, using its own a ...
