Chris,

I'm assuming that you've set your LC1 for 10/1 at 0v & 20/1 at 5v.

If you look at the MAPBins file I posted you will notice that the MAP values are closer together above 86kpa. This is because the slope of the VE v MAP changes in this area so that the linear interpolation that megaquirt ...

Colin,
Nice work! :D
Can I ask what software you used to generate the Alfa-N map?
I've not managed to get one out of MSTweak3000 or VexMe.

Paul.

It's an application I wrote when I was investigating the relative merits between SD & Hybrid Alpha-n with my ITB setup. I uses the vex files for the ...

Chris,

I've had a quick look and have the following observations:
From the O2 readings it looks like your useing wideband, is that correct?
If running wideband with 0v = 10/1 and 5v = 20/1 then it looks like your experiencing the usual steep rise in VE with MAP above 90kpa. as it looks like your ...

I found a similar characteristic on a 2.3 Duratec on ITB's, the VE table almost doubled from 90-100kpa. I switch to a hybrid form of alpha-n which has improved the feel of the car. On my setup I commoned the tappings from each body through a restrictor into a reservoir to get a damped but responsive ...

Check that you have the VR connected the right way.

I had a similar problem after an engine swap with a new VR with different wire colours, where it wouldn't fire until I reversed the connections.

Cheers,

Colin

I'm running spark with hybrid Alpha-n, but I modified the code (021u) so that the spark is map based. I felt that map based spark was more appropriate and I kept the table that I had used when using SD. I'm using ITB's with a commoned, damped MAP signal so the spark table is based on the engine load ...

Looks like they aren't editable with MS2.

Have you seen this thread though?

Have you tried reducing the EGO step % or increasing the ignition events per step?

Have you ever thought about MAF. It realy makes finding when the airflow realy starts to come on way easy to find.

AW

My arrangement has 4 ITB's with a sausage shaped filter protruding through the bonnet so it doesn't really lend itself to MAF.

I think that some of the variation of MAP at ...

So with hybrid do I use map at low throttles and move to alpha N at higher throttles?

No, I showed the VE tables for SD and hybrid alpha-n for comparison. These were generated from an analysis application that generates tables for both algorithms.

I don't blend both. I did modify the software ...
