Do you think this would be close to what you guy's had in mind?

Crazy - thats almost exactly what I was going to look into doing. My senior project last year used the same processor and we were using a lassen iq gps module from sparkfun as well and the whole time I kept thinking how cool it would ...

I would totally love this capability : )

As soon as I get my car goin this is the first thing I want to start workin on. This device from sparkfun looks like it would *almost* do the trick just a little modding to their code needed to request serial output from MS2, but I'd rather something that ...

I'd like to experiment with this whenever I get a chance to play with MS2 again

I forgot to mention that with our GM IAC setup we went crazy for a time with almost similar situations. His truck stock wanted to idle at 900rpm which means the OEM computer was not fully closing the IAC.

I tried to duplicate this and get it to idle at 900 based on a certain number of steps once ...

Dunno if this will be of any use but I figured I'd post anyway.

MS definitely needs to see rpm for the IAC to move back the other way after its initial power up. Megatune is an easy way to see what should be going on - when you start cranking you will see the steps move to your cranking position ...

Ok well had another nice cold morning to test it out and we have the startup values pretty much right on the money now. Here's what I found. The IAC position is very important for starting. It was 130 steps before, we upped it to 160 and it starts as good as stock now. But the problem with the cold ...

Thanks man. I am curious about something now.

I believe I found out the answer to my question about the cranking position.

if((outpc.rpm < inpram.crank_rpm) && (IACmotor_pos > inpram.IACcrankpos))
IACmotor_pos = inpram.IACcrankpos; // want IAC open at
// least this much during cranking ...

cold starting/IAC

Ok so we are having a real difficult time getting my buddies truck started when it is cold out.

For the record it is a stock 350 chevy TBI truck motor. We are running v2.35 code (v2.34 with Al's mod for battery voltage/pw spike issue)

Once warm the truck starts and, idles and runs great. Warm ...

I noticed today from a cold start that ASE was coming on.

So I'm looking at the code and I see:

if(outpc.clt >= inpram.temp_table[NO_TEMPS-1]) {
PrimeP = (unsigned short)inpram.PrimePH;
AWEV = (unsigned short)inpram.AWEVH;
AWC = (unsigned short)inpram.AWCH;
}
else if(outpc.clt <= inpram ...

no afterstart enrichment?

Should this come on every time you start your engine?

I noticed in megatune that it never lit up the ASE light at the bottom of the program on the main page. So I have been checking data logs and it never shows it coming on after starting the motor.

v3, ms2, code v2.34 (well actually unofficial ...
