Wow that's awesome guys thanks - I KNEW there must be a better way to do it. I didn't realize you could get into an old palm that cheap either, that is definitely a viable alternative to the laptop on track.

Thanks !

Sorry can't help but I have the same problem. Even better would be an option to automatically start datalogging from a trigger, ie when MAP rises above a certain KPa or rpm goes above a certain threshold.

Right now I have the same problem. Even beyond the difficulty of building a track legal mount ...

I had setup my timing and got it running but everytime I took it out I got bad detonation as soon as I went into boost. Played around with the setup for awhile had timing down to 16 and still pinging !

Switched back to the locked distributor at 22 degrees and ran fine. Turned out the distributor ...

Thanks lance it didn't even occur to me you could just ground one side of the magnetic trigger. I'm still not sure if its a VR input or Hall though.

I thought a search on "MSD distributor" would bring up a million hits but not so much.

thanks

Real dumb question about using an MSD distributor

I've read all the setup pages and currently have a MS-II running ignitino only from an optical points distributor, but am having bad detonation anytime I get into boost which is non-existent when running without the MS on a simple locked distributor (at 22 degrees, MS will ping even at 14 degrees ...

IAT and timing

It doesn't appear that MSII can alter timing based on IAT. Isn't this pretty common on the normal aftermarket EFI setups ?

Is anyone working on adding this ? (why or why not ?)

I've heard rule of thumb there is -1 degree per every 10 degrees above 120.
