I would suggest you wait until the car is driveable and/or you have the acceleration enrichment tuned. Once you have added spark it is difficult to know if the problem should be fixed with fuel or spark.

If you are using a Throttle Body Injection system you do not need two injectors. You can use one injector as long as it is big enough.

If you are willing to use a 'preowned' throttle body, see what the alternatives are by walking around a salvage yard and looking at cars with engines that have the ...

If you do short out the ballast resistor (assuming it is not inside the coil) then be sure to connect the + coil lead to the fuel pump relay. Not doing so will risk blowing the coil driver.

From your description of the waveform, I think the dwell you set is too low. You should be able to see some 'leveling' of the waveform. At the point where it begins to level off is the dwell.

To actually determine the dwell from the scope, you need to set the dwell higher than expected. Try setting ...

Here is a picture of what you see at the resistor (top). Note the current rises and then starts to level out. From the beginning of the rise to where it starts to level is the dwell time you want (about 4 ms at 4 amps on this picture). If the dwell were set longer, the current would not appreciably ...

Paul,

There were some additional Excel spread sheets under this sticky forum:

However the spread sheets are gone. Probably due to the last virus attack.

Jon,

I'm sure Lance has seen this thread and is looking to restore the files. It may take a ...

The beauty of MS is that I can simulate any distributor including the older pre emission distributors with ported vacuum.

This is from the older distributors. Note the 47 deg is under vacuum. The numbers are the recommended for mechanical advance and vacuum from "How to power tune MGB 4 ...

This one will create the basic ignition map of the original mechanical distributor if you know the amount of mechanical and vacuum advance. The data in it is for a 4 cylinder MGB
