Well....

Yes , your crazy , :P
but everybody's got to have a hobby .

You could easily spend $1500 to $2000 dollars on this project ,

for a mud boat .

But if you spend a great deal of time running that boat ,
and the engine is driving you insane with the way it runs ,
it might be worth it .

I ...

You have COP right now .

It's just a matter of how and where you mount your 2 new coils ,
a small motorcycle coil off of a dirt bike would probably be the best bet ,
they are water-proof and have a permanently attached , short , spark plug wire .

They are made to work under water ,
you shouldn't ...

You will be using the stock coils as VR sensors .

You will be using 2 separate ignition coils driven by MS for firing the plugs .

The Spark plug wires from the stock coils need to be
grounded out because they will still be trying to spark .

This can damage the coils if the spark has no place to ...

The magnets are so powerfull that you must use them .

The VR sensors contain their own magnets so that they will work
on any iron or steel object ,
but they are extremely wimpy compared to the flywheel magnets .

The VR sensors create a voltage when ever their magnetic field is changed in any way ...

You have 2 Huge magnets on the perimeter of the flywheel ,
they are so powerful , you will have to use them ,
a bolt head won't work at all with those magnets flying around .

2 VR sensor inputs is very cool , simplifies things alot .

A wasted spark type coil fires both plugs attached to it at the same time .

In order to use a wasted spark type coil ,
the engine has to have at least 2 pistons arriving at TDC at the same time .

A V-Twin's pistons arrive at TDC 90degrees apart , so you would have one
cylinder at TDC and the ...

You can't use a dual output coil on a V-Twin engine ,
you need 2 separate single coils ,
you have a low compression engine so any coil will work .

The fuel pressure reg is HERE .
You don't really want to mess with braided steel hoses ,
just use regular fuel injection hose and put a protective ...

The alternator output voltage is important to know
so that you don't SMOKE your new MicroSquirt .

20 amps is casual for running any ignition you want , plus the fuel pump .

Some of the other guys here would know more than me about COP set-ups ,
but it seems to me it will have to be set up as an 8 ...

Hi , Toon

1) How much output does your alternator produce ? (Amps)

2)How many volts does the alternator put out with the battery disconnected .

3) Will the engine run with the battery disconnected ?

4) Do your present coils mount up against the outside of the flywheel ?
(The pictures are not ...
