FWIW, I decided to make a small seat "insert" to be able to use the AC151 IAC valve. Made it to be a press fit (and locktited for extra measure) into the housing and matching the taper and diameter of the pintle. She seals up tight now! Not a trivial modification to perform though.
The finished ...

73Inka2002,
Sorry about the bum lead for Aaron. I'm a little bummed too as I was expecting him to fab up a turbo adapter for me. But correct - he's out of the adapter business, at least for the forseeable future.

Those carb mounting plates look like the ticket though. Seems pretty straightforward ...

Think I have that part straight Lance - the actual bore the IAC sits down into and seals against is quite a bit larger - 3/4" or so? I was referring to the bore of the pintle seat itself - the ID below where the pintle "seats".

Does the IAC possibly provide some level of air "leak", to compensate ...

Well... I can say now that the (had my fingers crossed...) AC151 IAC valve does NOT fit the housing either.

The pintle on the valve measures 0.0475" diameter at the outer edge, and about 0.425" just under the lip. No way it'll seal in the housing - the ID of the seat is just over 0.500".

Maybe we ...

FWIW I placed an order for the AC151 IAC valve this morning. Found it at RockAuto.com for $35 which looked to be a good price. :D
This part is made by Standard Motor Products, as opposed to AC Delco or other manufacturer.
I'll let you know how it works out.

He makes a slew of nice quality exhaust flanges (only mild steel though) at very reasonable prices - but also custom turbo adapters, aluminum intake flanges and does custom work. I'm ...

Thanks Richard - I'll send pics when completed.

Per the question posed by 88TSI_rob - that's interesting because I looked up the Neihoff PN 21774 on line and it showed the valve, but with what looked like a small pintle seat size as you described and like on the threaded mount IAC valve. It's just ...

I also picke up one of the IAC housings from DIYautotune - nice looking piece, though I may do a little custom trimming to remove some of the extra material around the inlet-outlet fittings.

One question - does the orientation of the housing/valve matter? I'd like to mount it with the pintle shaft ...

Thanks for the tip bleoh.
I checked those out - might be OK for the minimal $$ approach? - not quite what I'm looking for though.
I do think I've found the near ideal candidate though:

Anyone have a good idea what a good volume is for a surge tank?

My car is mid-engine with front mounted fuel tank. The plan at this point is to gravity drain the main tank into a Canton fuel filter - then to a low pressure pump (Carter or Walboro) - then back to the engine compartment to a surge ...
