Opening time value in MEgasquirt 1

Post by AAFA »

Hello everybody
Been a way for awhile but now we are tunning at the RR again.

Revisiting the opening time for 22 # High Impeadence injectors
open time 1.2
My PW at good idle is 8.6 seems high compared to documentation
Setting it via the changing squirt number does not seem to get me anywhere in megatune 225 and megasquirt 1 V2.2.
When going from 2 to 4 it floods and dies so changing the setting to
1.0 same thing then setting it to .9 no change the setting will not stay at
say .98 ms it rounds back to 1.0

So based on this my range would be .1 to 1.9 or so no way to set say .96
Lance or Eric or anyone am I missing someting?
:RTFM:
So Im guessing that 1.0 seems to work well 1.2 seemed better at idle so left it at 1.2

looks like some can set it at .98 in this thread

Bryan,

You cannot set the opening to 0.98, it has to be multiples of 0.1 milliseconds (in all the code versions I am aware of).

When you change the opening time, you have to retune the VE table at idle (and everywhere else to a lesser extent), as the amount of fuel is changed.

You can estimate the change by looking at the orignal idle pulse width, it should be nearly the same before and after the opening time change (if it was tuned originally, and once you have tuned the idle VE again). You can run through the calculations, but it's probably better and faster simply to re-tune.

Lance.

I posted a PERL program that automaticaly recalabrates the VE after changing open time. It should be easy to find.

Thanks Lance.
Ok tonight the rain came and changed the air big time.
but still took it out tonight ok
22 # injectors
REq fuel is 23.6
INJ open 1.1
pw at 170 is set for 3.2
When driving the Dc go's 100% on display
but in data log only reaches 78% I assume it ok.

Lance do you run AE at all ?I need to take out small stumble at around 1900 RPM and 20-30% throttle.
When I turn it on with standard settings it takes out stumble but when I let off throttle it picks up a touch or if the AE time expires.
Getting close
Ok second run after rain real nice

Attached a log megatune 2.25 mS1 V2.2
Can someone look at the CLT reading it's way to active can I install a 10K resistor to help it. Checked grounds all tight
with it changinig this much can the MS keep up?
