efi camshaft???

Post by abbamust »

Hi.
I am buying a new cam for my engine that will be running with MS-II.
Do I have to buy a Computer Controlled Compatible cam? What's the big deal with those cams anyway?

I see that CompCams have so called EFI cams... Are they the best choice? Or can't I use them at all?

Please help!
Thanks...

No, you don't need one.

Mostly, they're made to allow you to upgrade the cam without the stock ECU with stock programming throwing a Check Engine light or any problems passing an emissions test. This compatability with the stock computer is irrelevant when using Megasquirt.

The only concern you may run into is erratic MAP signal at idle if you run too wild a cam.
