Bad EDIS Module?

Post by Maddog6961 »

I am trying to figure out whether or not my EDIS-6 module is bad or not. I checked my ford VR sensor with a multi-meter and the needle bounced up and down like I would expect it to. When I checked the PIP output signal to MS it read 12V, but it won't trigger when I crank the engine. As I understand, when the coil fires, the PIP signal should go from 12V to ground. That isn't happening on my unit. I would like to isolate my problem to the EDIS control module before I go out and find one. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Check that you have the VR connected the right way.

I had a similar problem after an engine swap with a new VR with different wire colours, where it wouldn't fire until I reversed the connections.

Cheers,
