The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

ok i can get it to start but is waaaaay rich and cant figure out whats needs to happen to get this thing fixed. Ive tried everything under the sun. does anyone have a tune that i can use to get it close and go from there? my wideband is reading lean since there is so much unburned air/fuel in the mixture. Thanks to anyone that can help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
heres the rundown....
90 lx
306 9.3:1
stock twisted wedge heads
f303 cam
victor spyder intake
90mm t.b.
60lb injectors... high imp
aeromotive a1000 fuel supply
single gt45 turbo kit, 3.5" downpipe
th400 w 4k stall
Im using megasquirt 2 with 2.3 filmware. msd ignition. everything is wired up correctly. lc-1 wideband but reads lean...
Make sure you set up the constants correctly. Also, check your ignition timing - get it "ballpark" like around 15 degrees on your motor, that means check it with the light and adjust trigger angle until it's close. Leave it fixed while you tune the idle and startup first.
Make sure you are getting correct temps, and a good vacuum signal (probably going to idle around -15"). Finally, use your ears to get "close" - you'll know when it's happiest at idle, THEN look to the wideband to fine tune. Note, some widebands don't work great at idle, it depends on how it's placed in your exhaust stream, if you have leaks, etc.
ive got the timing set with the trigger wizard and im running about 25 degrees at idle. Im really rich and cant seem to figure out how to get it down. Thats why i was seeing if anyone has a good tune to start with.
You have some big injectors on there. Just keep knocking those VE numbers down until it runs better. My beetle is 400cc displacement per cylinder, your engine is about 625cc per cylinder. I have 19 lb injectors at stock rail pressures. Mine idles around 14 to 1 AFR at about 3.5ms pulse width. I know it's not the most correct way to look at it, but I bet you're going to idle at very low pulse width since you have about 3 times the injector flow on a cylinder size only 1.5 times mine. maybe under 2 ms?
Hope this helps, I'm just offering my speculation on it to help you get in the ballpark.

Your injectors are not the problem. I am running 4 75# injectors on a 2.3L 4 cyl. MS2 has no problem with that even with idle pulsewidths down to the 1.2 MS area I run in.
What is your required fuel calculated at? It should be around 7 with 2 injections per cycle.
Do you have your injector characteristics set for high or low impedence injectors?
I am pretty sure your 60# injectors will be low imp.
After checking your REQ_FUEL constant and VE table, put a timing light on each plug and make sure it's strobing on each plug. If so, you have all cylinders firing. Look for exhaust leaks BEFORE the O2 sensor. Also, not sure if you have to with the Innovate setups, but with my Tech Edge WBo2 I had to free-air calibrate the sensor in the controller. Someone with an LC1 might be able to comment.
I tuned mine for peak vacuum and by visually looking at the engine to see how much it was shaking around. It was happiest at about 13.2-13.5:1 at idle. That is with a REQ_FUEL constant of 12.5 and idle VE is about 47% @ 60kpa (big cam)
