The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. Which diagram are you looking at? I don't see the 1k resistors you are talking about.
You have a VR dizzy. you want to Add Megasquirt spark control. You also have a MSD.
Exactly, you are using MSD so you only need one GM 4pin module, the 1k resistor is the same as the 470ohm resister across B-C you can use either value.
The resistor is being used to pullup the level to 12V. The MSD ignition box already has a pullup resistor inside of it connected to the white wire you need not add another one.
