will megtune 2.25 tune MSI?

Post by Sam Powell »

I asked about the USB-serial adapter last week, and think I have got that problem solved. Thanks for your help. My old laptop died, and along with it my Megatune software. When I bought a new laptop with XP, I had to solve the USB adapter problem and down load a new copy of Megatune. I downloaded Megatune 2.25, which has long range value, as I am going to upgrade to MSII, but could not find an older version of Megatune to download. I succesfully installed the adapter and its software driver. When I hooked up my new lap top via the USB/rs232 adapter, the comunications test proved succesfull. I can tune constants, and enrichment tables on my old MSI ECU with Megatune 2.25, but nothing else. The tuning, realtime displays, and VE tables do not read, and will not tune. Is this because 2.25 is for MSII with its bigger VE bin table, is my laptop still not communicating properly with the ECU? Can someone point me to the location of the older Megatune software? What version should I be looking for? I could not find it on the site. The gauges on the opening screen will not respond either. Thanks for your help. Sam

Did you set up Megatune? It needs to know what hardware you have.

Sam It's possible that my app MegaTunix may work for you (as long as you haven't upgraded to MS-II yet). It's a little less featured than megatune in some places (no pretty gauges yet), but has an integrated logviewer/playback tool and supports nearly all firmwares with the exception of MS-II and some iterations and features of MSnS-Extra.
It has been reported by other users to run in cases where megatune wouldn't on USB to serial adapters, so it's a potential alternative..
