I'm planning to switch from my EDIS 6 coil pack back to my stock Nissan COP's which have 3 wires if possible. It appears to my untrained eyes that I could simply take the EDIS wires from PINS 10, 11 and 12 seen here:
and run them to the COP's PIN 3 (two COP's per each EDIS wire naturally). PIN 1 is ignition power and PIN 2 is ground on the stock wiring diagram.
I think that the edis module needs the load of a coil in order to calculate the proper dwell. Because of that, it will probably provide to much dwell which may damage your cop's. If you use an ms1 processor with the extra code, you could drive your cop's directly,plus have the benefit of a rev limiter.
Another option would be to bias your cop's on all the time, wire pairs in series for a wasted spark and then drive them directly from the edis. Pin 1 of a coil would go to pin 2 of it's pair. Pin 2 of that coil would go to the edis pin 10,11,or 12.

Can you clarify what you mean by "bias" them on all the time? Also, what would I do with PIN 3 of my COP's?

Try putting a 1k resistor between pin 2 & 3. That should bias them on all the time. This will turn them into a two wire cop, letting the edis module control the dwell properly.
The output from the EDIS module will be inverted i.e. it supplies ground to charge the coil, but those COPs expect 5v? to charge the coil because the schematic indicates that they are a combined coil and ignitor.
If you are running MS1/Extra on a V3 board you could ditch the EDIS module and connect those coil/ignitors direct to the board.

I keep hearing that and am wondering why I went w/ MSII in the first place, sounds like MSI/Extra is at least a little more adaptable. How would I go about switching over to MSI? Would I have to start all over w/ new hardware or is this MSII hardware still useful?
