Warmup Wizzard and 71°C value. Lean situations...

Post by McNugget »

Hi Mates,

I have some curious problem with my engine running with MS.
I have a Ford Fiesta 16V with a 1.8l Zetec 16V engine and throttleboddies mounted.

Everthing works fine except two things:
1. The engine is tuned very carefully. I tried to tune a VE table which is just a bit richer then needed. So I have no lean situation while driving and no humbling when I try to start from a lamp or something like that while GEGO saves the fuel while normal driving.

But during warmup I have one specific temperature range that is alway lean: 71°C. Within warmup wizzard I'm not able to change that value, but I need to. It is allways set to 100% but the Zetec engine still needs more enrichment until it reaches the 80°C mark.

So, how can I change that value? If I try its always set back to 100% but I would need 110% around 71°C... it would be cool to get it back to 100% at 80°C.

2. My engine always runs lean when it rains. I can do everthing with the car when the weather is fine, but if it rains the whole VE table is too lean.
Can I create some special configuration for wet weather or do I have to create a second VE table for these situations?

Thanks for your help! I hope anyone can understand what I tried to explain :)

The top point must be set at 100%. But you can change the temps. Go under your idle air control table. See the temperature values? This is where the warmup temp bins are pulled from. Change your 71 to something higher. This higher temp now becomes 100 and you can set the next lowest temp to 71 and so on to control that temperature. Follow me?

Don`t think you can alter the last temp value in MS1-extra it`s hard coded.

You`d have to do it in the code by editing the .asm and modifying the .ini to suite, don`t think it`s that easy to do, seems well embedded into the code?

WWURANGE:
db 0T
db 20T
db 40T
db 60T
db 80T
db 100T
db 120T
db 140T
db 170T
db 200T

I THINK this is what you need to alter, would also affect ASE, Cranking etc by the look of it, you need to edit the last number and recompile the code.

I found the problem: The lean situations were just a symptom of an other problem. My motorbike throttle boddies were not really synchronized. And as a result I needed much more enrichment than normal.
After I installed an air cleaner and made some slight modifications to the TBs I went to bike store again to make sure the TBs are perfectly synchronized. But they were not. After synchronization I had to change most of my enrichment configuration. The ASE, Warmup and especially the accEnr. The engine ran hurrible and stalled several times. But after fixing some values everything works cool again without the lean situation around 70°C :D

Thanks for your help anyway!
