Using a Yamaha R1 coilpack with EDIS-4
I have a coilpack from a yamaha R1 that I wanted to use with EDIS-4 (to go along MS2), and after verifying the resistance, I find this:
Primary resistance from the R1 coilpack : 3 ohm
Primary resistance from a ford escort coilpack : 1.3 ohm
My two questions are:
Should I substract the 0.7 ohm I get from just touching the two multimeter tip together ? It would then make the R1 coilpack to 2.3 ohm, and the ford escort coilpack to 0.6 ohm.
Would EDIS-4 work with coils like this ? Or it will fry or the spark will be weak (if at all)
Thanks for your input !

I started a thread a year ago regarding EDIS coil compatibility, to see if we could start a list of non-Ford coils being used successfully with EDIS. Try a search to see if that thread is still available. In the end I don't recall ever seeing a coilpack that was deemed 'incompatible'.
