Lance - Quick question...

Post by Jesse »

Lance,

A little while ago you gave me your VE table from your 408 in order to help me with my tuning. I was curious to know if you could also let me know what your REQ_FUEL value is.

In the universal fueling equation of (Fuel Injected) = (REQ_Fuel*VE)*(Other Variables)+(Other constants), the REQ_FUEL value is rather critical.

I fully understand now why a VE bin value of 65 on an engine with an REQ_VALUE of 15.3msec is not the same as a bin value of 65 on an engine running an REQ_FUEL value of 12.

This will allow me to asses the "linearity" of my current VE and anticpate spots that could give me trouble in the future.

Thanks much!!

Jesse,

I have run that VE table with a req_fuel of 6.3 (4 x 85 pph TBI injectors), a req_fuel of 16.7 (8 x 30 pph high-impedance injector with a fuel pressure adjustmnet to 50 psi), and a req_fuel of 7.4 (8 x 72 pph low impedance injectors).

I havd to make small adjsutments in the idle VE entries when moving between these, to account for my guesses on the opening times being not quite right.

Lance.
