MAP bin selection

Post by bazzer »

Hi All

Is there any reason to have MAP bins below your idle map reading ?

I know you will see greater vaccum on the overrun but when I open the throttle do I need some lower bins to accomodate this ?

Thanks in advance

Bazze,

Many engines will have a cruise MAP lower than the idle MAP. So if you wish to tune for maximum efficiency, you will proabbly want to have a bin that 5 to 10 kPa lower then your idle.

If you aren't concerned about the last drop of fuel efficiency, then you don't need a lower bin.

Thanks Lance

It only really gets used on track so ecomony is not that important.

Many Thanks
