all we have to do is wire a constant 5 volt lead to the bypass and set your ignition to trigger return.....
i am running my 5V from my 5v TPS lead off the relay board...
works like a charm...
i originally had used 5v from the proto area brought it out a spare port. out to the relay board(i did the relayboard mod) and tada...
since then i removed that ...
i wanted to save my Fidle ouput to control my fan...

however, blue, did yours ever not "unground", speaking of pin 30 the fidle output. Mine is always a ground for some reason.
but you may be right about grounding it in 3 places, it seemed like the ground provided by pin 30 wasn't that good, and if the alt was putting out 13.5v, it would only see 12v on the multimeter while grounded to pin 30.
hmmmmmm.
Does anyone have any ideas of why pin 30 would always be a ground? Bad construction or something?

It's fairly easy to bugger the FIdle transistor with a voltage reversal (hooking the stim power backwards, or a reverse voltage spike in the vehicle).
When damaged it appears to work on the stim with the small LED load (but it's usually inverted), but doesn't work under 'real world' loads and conditons.
See number 15 here: http://www.megamanual.com/v22manual/mass.htm#trouble

Lance, it's not that the grounding of pin 30 on the db37 is reversed, just that it's constant. It's always grounded. I don't think I would've had the chance to reverse the polarity, I had this harness working with the MS1 for 2 years, and then I just plugged it in, and added a wire for pin 30. But I will look and see if I have extra transistors and replace q3 and q5 and see if that helps.
It's very odd because the software is behaving correctly, but whether the port is on or off, the wire is always grounded :/ there's no shorts on the connector either, it's a solderless connector.
thanks guys,
teb
