HELP!! I need a new MSII CPU module by tomorrow????

Post by Mr Gadgets »

Not sure where to post this question.

Can anyone help me out there? I dropped my ECU off the table when working on it.. and it managed to land on one of the chips (U3) on the MSII module. So I need one ASAP.. It ripped U3 off the board with the pads, I dont think it can be repaired..

I had very quick repsonse from Paul at ProtoCar and have a new CPU on the way... Thank YOU Paul for such quick response!!

Next question is what does U3 on the MSII module do? The engine seems to run, but I am getting a lot of noise on the sensors. But if U3 is only for can then I might be able to use it without.. Any thoughts??

Thanks
Dick

U3 is the stepper motor driver chip.

Well the IAC was working even with the chip half torn off the board...
I did a search for the part number and came up with CAN driver chip??

My new MSII CPU board should be here tomorrow.. Then I can get back to it..

Thanks

I was wrong.. thought it was U3, instead it is U4 that was ripped off.. I think the board is useable.. so long as I dont use can...

Thanks for the help..
