newbie questions about bosch 3 wire IAC

Post by Rowan »

Hi there,

I'm working on setting up MSII using a bosch 3 wire IAC, and I was about to begin making the circuit described here:

http://www.msefi.com/viewtopic.php?p=119322

the questions I have are related to the fact that I am not particularly experienced with building electronics:

1 - Are garden variety 1/2 Watt carbon film resistors good anough for use here?

2 - Do the 2 IRF540s need to be screwed to a heat sink, and if so do they need to have a mica insulator pad under them?

thanks for any advice.

The transistors dont need heatsinking. I measured the current draw at about 500mA so not a lot at all.
