Overun fuel cut ? wen DON'T you use it?

Post by LigonierA1 »

Hey gang,
Running MSnSe (271 I think), MT 2.25 on a supercharged watercooled VW. And of course a few questions....

So when I turn on the over run fuel cut, she does't pop pop pop on the overrun, which is nice. But am I risking anything? I wouldn't think so, but it begs the question as to under which circumstances that you'd want overrun fuel cut to remain on? I wonder if I"m underestimating and underutilizing this feature.

Then there's the accell/decel enrichment settings. Accel I understand. Focusing on the decel enrichment, it seems alot like over run. Why and when would you implement that? Why would I want it rich on decel?

I run it, the only time I don't run it is under 35 degrees, but thats only because it will stall if I do. I haven't noticed any problems, it seems fine..

decel enrichent is more like the reverse of AE. As in it will cut the fuel for maybe 1 sec or so. One difference is you could get deaccel enrich when overrun wouldn't kick in (fo eg gear changing, light engine braking).

Having said that deaccel enrichment was in the code before overrun, so it could just be that! Maybe just different things suit different cars/bikes.
