MAP up, AFR up

Post by arnold »

Hi there

I am in the middle of further tuning of my supercharged 1300 cc Austin Healey Sprite. The car is driving pretty will, only some bucking once in while. I installed the Extra Code and got spark control now, so I go on tuning.

I eperience the AFR going up as soon as the MAP goes up, meaning the mixture leans out as soon as I accelarate. I think that that is normal, but the AFR is not recovering... does that mean I have to raise the VE's in that area or do I have to raise the acc. enrichment??

I think you want to start with tuning the VE table for steady state first - both high & low kpa. After then, yes, you'll probably want accelEnrichment as soon as you step on it so that the extra fuel will help to alleviate the lean spikes.

If your AFR does not return even after the kpa rose and became steady then I think your VE table needs to be adjusted.
