Idle control

Post by pommie02 »

i am trying to control my idle..
i am using gsxr throttle bodies, with no idle control...just using the idle setting screw.
i have adjusted the cranking pulse widths.but it still wont idle.
looking through tuning tips it mentions piggy back applications..i am using fuel only. is this piggy back ?
and if so do i set the pulse widths to 0.1.

on the same subject...
should my butteflies be completely closed...no suction. or partly open ?

Gary, the butterfys should be slightly open on idle to get the air into the motor.
Are you using speed density?

is the bike firing ? Also what cranking speed do you have in megatune?
I might be stating the obvious but if we have spark and fuel then the bike should fire, once we get to that point we can check for ignition timing etc.
You dont have a wb02 cause it will give you an idea of if its rich or lean at start up. At start up my ms 1 pulses the injectors much faster than when its running. If its very rich and killing the plugs you will have to reduce the amount of fuel injeected during warm up enrichment.
