"Dummy" injector

Post by Corners »

Hello all.

What I'm looking to do is keep the factory computer (suzuki motorcycle) happy as in no trouble codes shown or anything, but run fuel and ignition off the microquirt. Therefore, what I"m looking to do is place a resistor in the factory wiring harness equal to that of an injector so the computer thinks it's still adding fuel. Anyways, what I'm wanting to know if such a device already exists (for example, have the male plug end of an injector that I can just plug into the wiring harness without splicing). I googled around and came up with nothing. Next is to just make my own. Are the male injector plug ends available for purchase? The factory manual lists 10-18 ohm injector resistance; so any tips on which resistor type would best hold up to this service?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know if you still need this, but whatever injector resistance you use shouldn't matter, as long as it doesn't require more current than the injector and the power rating of the resistor. If you want to make a dummy injector with similar characteristics to the injector, though, use this resistor:

I'm not sure what injector connectors Suzuki uses, but if it is like an EV1 connector, you can probably get an EV1 - EV6 adaptor harness commonly available and take the connector off there.

On Ebay right now there's a TB harness for a GSXR1000 for <$20. If it matches your injectors, clip the connectors off and wire a resistor.
