Engine crank for about 7 seconds before injection

Post by modman »

Hi guys,
this is my first post in regard to my first experience with micro squirt. I have a 4 cylinder GM engine with a 60-2 trigger wheel, using MAP, TPS and ECT sensors only. Initially after set up it appeared I had no triggering, but when tested with a stimulator everything bench tested OK. The problem seems to be that I need to crank the engine for about 7 seconds before the injection pulses start. Once triggered, all seems OK, but I am lost as to why the delay. Any suggestions as to what I am missing? I have had a duplicate GM trigger wheel and pick up made up to be driven my a small electric motor to recreate the exact signal and to save on starter motors for bench testing this system and the problem is the same, always a 7 second delay before injection. Using an oscilloscope I can observe a clean correct 60-2 trigger signal straight away everytime.

I would appreciate any suggestions,

Thanks Don :?

under base ignition settings, what is skip pulses set to?
if it is set too high, it will take a while to start. just a guess.
