Urgent!!! ducati 999R fila edition

Post by dyno »

hi all, hope every thing is okay

i am tuning a ducati 999R to run IGN&fuel by a microsquirt v3 firmware v3.78 all sensor are giving good readings but it read RPM then fall at cranking so it never starts when i used the 321extra code it showed good steady rpm signal but it gave back fires from air box but i won't run it on extra code because it won't handle dual spark as it will handle it so the problem here is, is it a problem at the .msq file or setting up information at tuner studio failed or the microsquirt needs another sensor to re-sync as it uses single vr sensor on a 48-2 cam speed trigger wheel when i checked the the plugs for spark it gave a good spark at the duration of rpm but it gone off when the signal of rpm stopped and it's my first time to tune with a micro all i've done before was fuel setup by ms 2 on 4 cupras :) :) so i am new to ignition and those stuff and i've read tons of info. on the site and i understand i may have to use another vr sensor to get it start but i don't know i am not expert , the msq is down there
best regards :)

I ran your msq on the bench and it appears to work correctly on the scope. The first ignition output sparks just before the gap and Ign 2 sparks about 270 degrees (135 cam deg) later. An even fire engine would have sparked 360 crank deg later, so this odd-fire engine is advanced 90 crank deg relative to the even fire engine. So don't change the configuration - if the timing is not where you want it you can change the trigger offset or the Odd fire angle.

But from what you say about losing rpm, that is not your problem, it's the vr sensor signal. You can do a datalog to see whether you are losing teeth (meaning a weak signal) or getting extra teeth (meaning noise). You see this by whether the trigger+/- number counts down or up.

thanks alot for your concerning, i just got from my garage and have checked the tach. signals that goes for the micro. by tachref. program as you told me it's a sensor problem i saw the wave shape and it's uneven at all i mean it started with long wave shape then it goes smaller then it goes bigger i mean it's uneven spaces between each tach. signal and it's not for the missing teeth
so here's my todo list
1-i'll check sensor gap
2-putting on the vr sensor wires more alum. foil to work as a shield till the connection area with the micro's vr wire to give more strength to the signal
3-check all the diagram terminals to see if there's a short between any circuit
really i appreciate your help and i'll post each step that i'll make till it start because of course maybe someone out there in need for this help and to tell if anything went wrong too as i said am not expert :)

Best Regards from egypt :)
