EDIS wiring help please

Post by Alfow »

Hello,

I am completely new both here and to Microsquirt.

I have a Microsquirt V3 I am going to use to run my Zetec with GSXR750 throttle bodies using AlphaN and EDIS.

I have got as far as getting the MS and laptop to communicate, sensors calibrated and most of the basic settings entered.

I have been backwards and forwards trying to understand how to hook up the EDIS (4) unit I have.

I'd be very grateful if somebody could confirm if I have this correct:

VR Sensor to pins 5&6 on the EDIS.

EDIS pin 1 PIP to Microsquirt pin 32 VR1+

Microsquirt pin 12 IGN1 to EDIS pin 3 SAW

Any help greatly appreciated.

am I correct in assuming the EDIS 4 and 8 are similar and can either connect the PIP to pin 30 or pin 32?

I have just finished installing a MicroV3 with EDIS 8 to my rover v8 but I cannot get any cranking rpm or the engine to start.
I have mine connected PIP to pin30 (OptIN+, grey/red) & SAW to pin12 (IGNITION1, white)

Cheers

Also just noticed another post on this very forum with the following details for wiring the EDIS;
Ampseal pin #12 to the SAW pin (#3) on the ignition module
Ampseal OPTOIN+ pin #30 to the PIP pin (#1) on the ignition module
Ampseal OPTOIN- pin #31 to the same ground location as the EDIS module (pin #9 or pin #10 depending on the module used).

As a strong beleiver in no such thing as a stupid question, am i meant to have Opto- grounded cause that would be my rookie mistake is it is indeed true! Hope so!
