poping through intake at high KPA cause?

Post by 71jeep »

Hi all I was tunning today I have a buick V6 oddfire running MSNS-extra O26i code on a V3 board fuel only megatune 2.15b627.Motor is running great until we get under a load on a hill it starts to pop through the intake what could cause this am I to rich on the high end of my VE table or to lean.Or is there something else I need to check into.
Also when on a hill when it drops into passing gear then comes out of passing gear that sudden drop in rpm makes it pop to.
Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated thankyou.

71Jeep,

Yup, popping into the intake almost always means too lean (by quite a bit), as Richard says.

Richen the VEs at those kPa by 10 to 15%, that should help a lot.

The popping when drop rpm may be because your decel fuel amount is too low (try around 80 to 100). However, it may also be popping in the exhaust, which may mean the mixture is too rich...
