BAM! Mazda started immediately :)

Post by naprotejay »

Details are in my sig link, but I've handed over fuel to MSII; and after figuring out where I needed to tap the tach signal - it fired right up! I didn't have to make a single change to the Req_Fuel, cranking pulsewidths, etc....

It has been a *steep* learning curve, but I'm looking forward to the possibilites :)

Thanks to all behind this system and the forum!! And thanks to macky322 for setting me up with the MSII...

Questions: Hot idle is RICH: ~11:1 - is auto-tune recommended/possible for tuning the idle a/f's (if I set the parameters to make it possible - including the .ini file)? or should I just adjust the VE bins 'around' idle?

Another thing, I'm running a seperate filtered air supply to the stock ISC valve (instead of connecting it to the intake pipe). I didn't think this would be a problem with the way MAP works..... Anyone see a potential problem?

Good to hear another BP is running, NO BOOST though :D

I would recommend just cleaning the idle out by tuning the VE. The exhaust flow is not much to fully trust the wideband sensor at that low of RPM. Make sure the car is fully warmed up before you tune the idle.

Cheers,
Omid

haha... I'm allergic to boost!! - someone's got to be different and go the na route ;)

anyways, thanks for the response - I'll try tuning the VE bins around idle a little more..... it seemed after the WUE went 'off', if I adjusted the VE down; the car either wanted to die or would go idle hunting....
