This morning when trying to start cold (15*F) I had to increase the PWM to 70% from 64, it would not start at 64%. I also noticed that the increase almost completely eliminated a hesitation coming of idle.
I have taken the car on tw short drives as the idle is good and I have two questioons before i go much futher.
1. The 70% PWM is high but is it too high? (the board check out and is built properly and connected to the MS board correctly)

2. The R10 resistor runs at bout 130*C when the RPM is held at cruise (2800 - 3000) for a few minites. Is this too hot?? I have a 1K ohm 1/2 watt installed.

Thanks
Kirk

Kirk,

I'd suggest re-posting your flyback test results under another heading. I've never used the flyback board, and can't provide you any more specifics than that in the megamanual. It certainly seems like something is amiss in the flyback area.

If R10 is really 130C, then that's way too hot. Bump up the resistance and check again.

I used a 1K ohm 1 watt risitor and put it near the coil on the wire thatr runs from the coil - to pin 24 and the R10 is still a 1K ohm 1/2 watt. This has reduced the temp of the R10 considerably. After running at cruise (2800 - 3000 rpm) the temp runs 40 - 45* C.
I reposted the flyback problem in the Tuning forum. Is this were it should be or would it be better somewhere else??

Thanks again
Kirk
