S.Bretz,

Are you talking about autotune with MegaTune? That works with all the code variants. AMC (which is a different thing than autotune, but functions similarly) has the advantage of not needing a laptop hooked up, and being able to automatically update the VE table in FLASH.

I have a Mega View hooked up to the MS2 most of the time (when the laptop is not hooked up) and you can adjust some of the settings like priming pulse, cranking pulse.....ect. Also there is a setting for AMC. I search awhile back and found the acronim (sp?) to be for automatice mixture control. I played with the numbers on the MV but it seemed to do nothing....so I'm assuming that since I'm runnign the 2.34 code that the amc funtionality is not present...the AMC control on the MV is acting like a light switch with no wiring going to it...am I right in this think or in left field?

S.Bretz,

Ah, I got it now. Yes, AMC was added in the MegaView code early so that people would not need a new chip (with new programming) as the code was upgraded. So it does nothing with the 2.34 code.

When you upgrade to 2.5+ code, it will become functional in MegaView.

Lance,

if I have run AMC and it has made corrections can I commit these to flash before the next flash update time by going into tables and clicking burn now. This way I don't have to rely on luck as to if the latest changes have been commited before I turn off the key. Should I perform a fetch from controller first?

Jon,

Yes, right on all counts. If you want to burn the changes manually, you must do a 'fetch/burn' cycle.

Thanks Lance,

does turning on AMC disable autotune?

Lance, while we're on the subject of AMC......

I have a V8 using Dual Wideband O2 with Dual table on MS-II (v3.0 pcb), and considering a code upgrade to firmware 2.6xx

I currently have ego1 in the left manifold, and inj_1 output controlling the left injectors, and vice versa.

Could you confirm that using Dual Table, the AMC code will correctly calculate and apply a correction for VETable2 using AFRTable2 targets and ego2 correction, and vice versa? Also, when it does an auto Flash Update, does it burn both VE tables? Thus correcting both VE tables simultaneously based in their individual inputs and criteria?

Now that would be cool!

Many thanks, Matt.

Matt,

Yes, that is exactly the way it works with dual table and dual sensors.

Yeah, that's Al's way of working - quietly and efficiently exceeding expectations!

Jon,

No. They will both operate, though each affect the EGO which is driving both, so there shouldn't be a problem (they may get a little out of sync briefly - depending on their respective parameters, but this should be self-correcting).

The difference is that the changes that autotune makes (and to which AMC is also reacting) wouldn't be saved without a manual burn.

If it were my vehicle, I'd only use one or the other, though, just for simplicity's sake!

Thanks Lance 8)

I'll give that a try over the weekend, I just need a few minor tweaks on my AFR targets first.........

Many thanks, Matt.
